Jengari is located in the Outer Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne, Australia Our names are Gary and Jenny. We have a small home-based breeding program. Our breeding cats are also beloved pets and our girls live in our home as part of the family, with access to out door enclosures. Our kittens are born in the house and are well socialized with humans and other pets.
We are registered
breeders, and regularly show with The Feline Control Council of
Victoria Gary and I put together the proposal to request recognition of the Selkirk Rex breed with the Coordinating Cat Council of Australia and they were accepted for showing by CCCA affiliates at the beginning of 2003. We showed our kittens for the first time at the Melbourne Pet Expo Feb 2003. Jengari Miss Sparkles went on to win Reserve Kitten of the Year 2003. Jengari Gwendolyn did one better and was Kitten of the Year 2004. Jengari Paddy O’Malley is the first Australian Selkirk Rex to earn a CCCA Ch title. We became interested in the Manx some time ago but it took us a long time to find a suitable breeding cat with a sound pedigree to begin our breeding program. We are only just starting out with breeding Manx and are very excited about our first litter, which was born 22 April 2006
