Whether they are filled with lust, greed, hatred, lies, their desire for self-gratification is what hell is all about
If that is what they want, that is what they get.
After a little thought, the horror of this eternal self-gratification brings real fear. After all, self-gratification always and quickly, pales with time. Whatever physical, intellectual or other satisfaction for self only, that may be found, becomes an unending nightmare of insanity.
Insanity is, in fact, what evil is all about. If there is a God, then failing to recognise Him; to acknowledge Him and to appreciate Him, is pure lunacy.
Hell, then is for the eternally insane.
Yet, it is more. A place of being without love. This is what adds horror to horror.
No love!!
These insane persons perceive the glorious state; the greatness; the beauty; the delights; the intellect, God had intended for them.
And they perceive the state they have chosen and their desolation is complete.

Yet this is what they seek, the sons of evil; what they want and what they get. Evil is their alternative to God and their success is hell.
They seek no part of goodness, of love or of truth - even from hell. Their choice against God persists even in hell.
In the ugliness that is theirs in hell, these insane denizens want no-one to view their ugliness, particularly the heavenly court!
